Max Bellmore narrates a deep dive into one of the Lords of the Underworld's most talked about characters: William the Dark. William's potential future as king of the underworld hinges on breaking a curse by resisting a beautiful woman. Enter Sunday Lane, a unicorn-shifter working as a code breaker who is William's current attempt at escaping the curse. Bellmore's flat narration does little to differentiate characters or give life to the increasingly steamy scenes between William and Sunday. Bellmore maintains a steady but slow pace that counters the tense, suspenseful, and otherwise erotic interactions. While the story deftly weaves between brutal fight sequences, flirtatious bantering, and scorching sex scenes, the excitement is overshadowed by the weak narration.
