This 24-page lesson teaches about the state's first people, famous explorers and Native Americans, early government, important battles and wars in Ohio, and the journey to statehood.
After reading about Ohio, students will:
•answer Reading Comprehension questions
•complete a Language Skills activity
•create a journal entry detailing plans to help a slave escape on the Underground Railroad
•research the lesson to create a Fact Card about Chief Little Turtle
•take a Vocabulary Quiz
